Malayalam star Mammootty’s latest film, Bramayugam, has created a massive buzz nationwide. The film hit the theaters on February 15 and has seemingly amazed the audience. Mammootty’s Bramayugam will release on Sony LIV
Usually, Malayalam movies have their digital debut about a month after their theatrical release. However, due to their unique concepts, Mammootty’s films have witnessed extended theatrical runs. The actor’s previous film, Kaathal – The Core, according to a report by OTTplay, Bramayugam is also expected to have a long theatrical window. The publication has also confirmed that Sony LIV has locked the movie’s streaming rights.
In an interview with ETimes, director Rahul Sadasivan revealed why the movie was shot in black and white. He said, “It’s a mystery thriller. It falls into a little bit of the horror genre as well. It is a fictional story with fictional characters.” “It’s a period setting, and black and white was the best setting to tell this story.”
Yet, making the movie black and white was still challenging. Moreover, the director ensured that a few test shoots were done. Mammootty’s sinister look and grin in the trailer and the unique concept are what seemingly made Cinephiles watch the movie.
