Mini-Review:

If you’ve seen either of the previous two Blue Collar Comedy DVDs, then you know exactly what this one has to offer. While it’s not as funny as its predecessors, “One for the Road” does have some hilarious moments. Jeff Foxworthy’s routine includes redneck fashion tips as well as some amusing stories from his book signings at Wal-Mart. (In fact, there are multiple mentions of Wal-Mart and Bass Pro Shops in this DVD). Larry the Cable Guy sticks with his traditional routine of jokes about his family and his new wife. Bill Engvall features an amusing bit about getting a new trampoline at his house, a massage gone awry, and a nasty encounter with a stewardess on a flight. Ron White rounds out the acts with some bits about national security alerts, a toll bridge down in Florida, and picking up dog doo. The four return to the stage together to tell their favorite jokes. But even better, they show some embarrassing photos that their wives pulled out of the photo albums. The shots are quite spectacular and well worth checking out.

If you enjoy blue collar comedy or if you saw the previous “Blue Collar Comedy” movies, then you’ll probably want to go back for more in this latest addition to the series.

The bonus features are also pretty good. Things are kicked off by a short film entitled “Yankee Doody Dandy”. In it the boys leave flaming dog poop on the White House steps. A Bush impersonator stomps the fire out and then chews out the fellas. It’s pretty hilarious if not pleasingly lowbrow. “Molding the Minds of Young Americans” shows the guys doing a Q&A at a local university. The questions range from what the wives of the guy think about their jokes to queries about drinking. “Blue Collar Fans” features some interviews with the audience members outside of the theater. Finally, “Behind the Scenes: One for the Road” shows the making of the opening credits, the making of “Yankee Doody Dandy”, and behind the scenes of the concert.
