Park Ji-Hoon on Love Song for Illusion roles

Park Ji-Hoon plays dual roles in the upcoming KBS drama Love Song for Illusion. He plays the Crown Prince Sajo Hyun, who hides a deep-rooted secret. The prince has an alter ego named Ak-Hee, who works as a designer at a downtown boutique, where no one knows of his real identity. While the real identity is a well-kept secret, chaos ensues once he meets Yeon-Wol.

During the press conference for the drama, Park Ji-Hoon spoke about playing dual roles and preparing for the same. He said, “I think it would be a lie to say that it wasn’t difficult emotionally or mentally. It was difficult, but I worked hard not to show that difficulty on set.” But, he extended his gratitude to fellow lead cast member Hong Ye-Ji, who he said, “followed along so well and conveyed the energy well, so I didn’t have to adjust separately. I was so grateful.”

Hong Ye-Ji plays an assassin who attempts to seek revenge on the King for killing her noble family and the Yeon clan. However, she ends up as the Crown Prince’s concubine in the royal court and loses her memory. While the actress noted that she played two roles, she understood Park Ji-Hoon’s difficulties in playing dual roles with extremely different personalities.

The actress shared aspects of her chemistry with Park Ji-Hoon and said, “However, I felt it from the first time we met, but I really liked the energy coming from his eyes. I felt a sense of synergy and didn’t feel any difficulties.”
