Update on Former WWE Star Mustafa Ali’s Future Plans

The former WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali has revealed an ambitious plan, embarking on a global mission in the world of wrestling. Ali, who was released by WWE on September 21, was slated to face Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship at NXT No Mercy on September 30. However, following Ali’s release, Trick Williams stepped in as his replacement and went on to defeat Dominik at No Mercy, claiming the NXT North American title.

Mustafa Ali, who initially signed with WWE in 2016 after making waves in the Cruiserweight Classic, requested his release in January 2022, marking the end of his consistent television presence over the years.

Now, as a free agent, Mustafa Ali has declared a World Tour campaign, aiming to cleanse the sport of wrestling from what he perceives as corrupt leadership. In a video shared on Twitter, Mustafa Ali calls out the alleged corruption in the sport and introduces a star-studded lineup of fellow wrestlers joining him on his list. The likes of Kazuchika Okada, Alex Shelley, Vikingo, Matt Cardona, Will Ospreay, Mike Bailey, Zack Sabre Jr., and Swerve Strickland are featured in the video.

Check out the video below:

Ali has secured bookings for various promotions, with appearances set for GCW on January 12 against Gringo Loco, C4 on January 19, PROGRESS Wrestling on January 28, DEFY Wrestling on February 9.

At Dreamwave, he will be facing Penta El Zero Miedo, Vikingo, and Gringo Loco on February 10, Prestige Wrestling against Mike Bailey on February 25, and Warrior Wrestling on March 1.

Is former WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali on his way to AEW?

The former WWE Superstar recently posted a compelling video, calling out the perceived corruption within professional wrestling leadership. Notably, the video also highlighted several AEW stars, raising speculation about Ali’s potential move to All Elite Wrestling.

In the surprising Twitter video, Mustafa Ali mentioned top wrestlers from various promotions, including AEW’s Swerve Strickland, Ricky Starks, and Will Ospreay. It’s important to note that Ospreay will begin his AEW journey during the road to Revolution, as he mentioned at Full Gear in November.

Time will tell if Ali, who is now looking at bouts across several promotions, ends up joining AEW.
