What to expect in Saw X?
“Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable,” reads the official synopsis for the film. “Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.”
Saw X is directed by Kevin Greutert from a screenplay written by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. It features the return of franchise vets Tobin Bell as John Kramer/ Jigsaw and Shawnee Smith as Amanda Young, who was initially one of Jigsaw’s victims, but later on became his apprentice. Joining them are Renata Vaca (Midnight Family), Paulette Hernandez (Crown of Tears), Joshua Okamoto (VGLY), Octavio Hinojosa (How to Survive Being Single) Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarok), Steven Brand (Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman), and Michael Beach (Mayor of Kingstown).
The horror thriller is produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules. The franchise currently has a combined worldwide gross of over $1 billion at the box office.
