Zeb is yet to appear in the Ahsoka TV show on Disney Plus. Considering that we’ve already seen Sabine Ren and General Sendulla, in addition to a major tease for Ezra Bridger, many are wondering whether Zeb will also rejoin his old squad. With three episodes remaining, here’s all you need to know about the potential appearance of Zeb in the live-action Ahsoka series.
Is Zeb in the Ahsoka TV show?
At the time of writing, Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios has not been in the Ahsoka TV show, nor has he been spotted in any of the trailers. However, after his cameo in The Mandalorian season 3, episode 5, aka Chapter 21, he was always expected to show up in Ahsoka.
The Mandalorian Season 3 was used to set up Dave Filoni’s future Star Wars projects in many ways. First, we saw the Purrgil Whales make a brief cameo in Chapter 17, “The Apostate.” Then the whales returned in Ahsoka’s episode 4 and became crucial in episode 5, paying off The Mandalorian season 3’s setup.
Similarly, Zeb’s cameo could have been used to establish his existence in live-action. Considering that there are still a few episodes of Ahsoka left, it’s possible that we could see his setup be paid off in one or more of those.
Why is Zeb missing from the live-action TV show?
There are three possible reasons why Zeb has been missing from the series so far. The first and most important reason is the CGI cost involved in bringing him to life. Since Zeb will need a lot of visual effects work, his presence in the entire series would have raised the budget of an already big-budgeted series.
Secondly, the series has been pretty female-centric, focusing primarily on Ahsoka, Sabine, and General Hera Sendulla. Zeb’s constant appearance might have taken lessened the impact of a powerful female-helmed crew.
The third reason could be that Dave Filoni has been saving Zeb for a special appearance in the finale for when Ezra Bridger presumably returns, or to be a new addition in the potential second season of Ahsoka.
It’s also possible that, during the time that Ahsoka takes place, he could be carrying out different missions from the New Republic, or be involved in a bit of bar-hopping, as seen in The Mandalorian season 3.
