Amazon Studios has released the first official Saltburn photos for the upcoming drama. This serves as Oscar winner Emerald Fennell‘s follow-up to her 2020 directorial feature film Promising Young Woman. The photos provide a first look at the film’s scenic location of a castle-like mansion.
The film will host its world premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival. This will then be followed by its theatrical release on November 24. It is scheduled to make its debut in the same month as other high-profile projects like Dune: Part Two, The Marvels, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
What to Expect in Saltburn?
Saltburn is written and directed by Emerald Fennell, who previously won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for her work on Promising Young Woman. It is produced by Fennell, Margot Robbie, and Josey McNamara. The film stars Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe, and Carey Mulligan. This marks the latter’s second collaboration with Fennell following Promising Young Woman.
“Fennell brings us a beautifully wicked tale of privilege and desire. Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton, who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten,” reads the synopsis.
Fennell currently stars as Midge in Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie movie, which has just earned a worldwide gross of over $1 billion.
