Bleecker Street has released the official trailer for Summering, the upcoming coming-of-age drama which follows four friends through the final days of summer and the impending end of their childhood. The film had its world premiere earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. It is currently slated to arrive in theaters on August 12.

Summering stars Megan Mullally (Will & Grace), Lake Bell (Children’s Hospital), Madalen Mills (Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey), and Ashley Madekwe (Salem), with Sarah Cooper, Lia Barnett, Eden Grace Redfield, and Sanai Victoria.

“During their last days of summer and childhood, the weekend before middle school begins, four girls struggle with the harsh truths of growing up and embark on a mysterious adventure,” reads the synopsis.

Summering is directed by James Ponsoldt from a screenplay he co-wrote with Benjamin Percy. Ponsoldt is best known for his 2013 film The Spectacular Now which featured then-rising stars Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley.
