The upcoming thriller The Mother starring Jennifer Lopez has added more actors to its cast, according to a recent report from Variety.

Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, and Gael Garcia Bernal have all joined on to star in the feature, which will allow a deadly assassin (Lopez) as she comes out of hiding to protect her daughter (Lucy Paez) that she gave up years ago. According to the report, Fiennes and Bernal will play “dangerous men” who are on the hunt for Lopez’s character, while Hardwick will portray an FBI agent attempting to help out Lopez.
The film is written by Misha Green (Lovecraft Country) with revisions by Andrea Berloff (Straight Otta Compton). Lopez will also be serving as a producer along with Elaine Goldsmith Thomas through their Nuyorican Productions. Green and Benny Medina are also set as producers along with Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon. Catherine Hagedorn has also boarded the project as an executive producer and Courtney Baxter will serve as an associate producer.

This project marks Lopez’s latest collaboration with Netflix, which has been working on the film adaptation of The Cipher centering around Lopez as an FBI agent. The award-winning singer’s other film credits include Anaconda, Maid in Manhattan, Enough, Monster-in-Law, Selena, and Hustlers. The latter two earned her two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.
