Former WWE Champion CM Punk has made several appearances in WWE’s developmental system, NXT. Since his return to WWE in November 2023, Punk has regularly visited NXT and the WWE Performance Center.
When he was recovering from his torn triceps, he actively assisted talent and offered advice. He was seen with NXT stars like Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez on multiple occasions.
With more than two decades of experience, CM Punk has been a top star in every promotion he has wrestled. At WWE NXT, he has been seen helping several stars backstage. Recently, WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez discussed how Punk’s presence has positively impacted the up-and-coming talent.
Roxanne Perez opens up about CM Punk’s support in WWE NXT
At Stand & Deliver, WWE superstar Roxanne Perez defeated Lyra Valkyria to win the WWE NXT Women’s title and became the youngest two-time NXT Women’s Champion. Since capturing the championship, she has also defeated Lyra Valkyria, Tatum Paxley, Jordynne Grace, Lola Vice, and others. Currently, Perez is one of the top stars on the black and gold brand.
Perez recently spoke with Stephanie Chase about her admiration for former WWE Champion CM Punk, whom she looked up to while growing up and aspired to emulate. She expressed gratitude for Punk’s support and efforts, highlighting how he has been both helpful and encouraging to the NXT roster.
She stated, “I grew up watching him, I grew up wanting to be where he was so now being able to be under his learning tree… he’s just so awesome. I feel like he doesn’t have to do everything that he does, he will literally just drop by the NXT pay-per-views. He was there at Las Vegas Battleground just to watch all of our matches So it’s really cool for him to go out of his way to do that and and help us out and see if we need any critiques or any advice or anything, he’s always there.”
In June, after her title defense against Jordynne Grace at WWE NXT Battleground, Perez was delivering a backstage promo when CM Punk interrupted her. During the encounter, Perez called Punk a hypocrite for offering her advice.
