WWE superstar Roman Reigns, who made his much-anticipated return at SummerSlam, is set for the upcoming edition of SmackDown. Reigns had been absent since WrestleMania 40, where he lost his undisputed WWE title to Cody Rhodes. Since Reigns’ hiatus, The Bloodline has undergone significant changes, and Solo Sikoa has stepped up as the leader.
Solo Sikoa has taken charge of The Bloodline since WrestleMania 40 and brought in Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu. This new version of The Bloodline also removed Paul Heyman and Jimmy Uso from the faction.
Solo Sikoa, who has declared himself the new Tribal Chief, faced a confrontation with Roman Reigns this past weekend at SummerSlam. Reigns intervened in the WWE title match between Sikoa and Cody Rhodes, delivering a Superman punch and a spear to his brother Sikoa, which cost him the match.
This upcoming Friday night, WWE will air the SummerSlam fallout edition of SmackDown from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Roman Reigns will return to the show following his actions at SummerSlam. Additionally, recent reports confirm that former WWE Champion AJ Styles will also make his return this Friday.
AJ Styles expected to make a comeback on WWE SmackDown
WWE superstar AJ Styles has been absent since his loss to Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle in June. Since then, Styles has competed in Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he defeated Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH Destination 2024 on July 13 at Budokan Hall in Japan. He also appeared at three WWE house shows in Japan during the recent tour. According to PWInsider, AJ Styles will return on the August 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Although his role on the show is not yet clear, it will be interesting to see what plans the promotion for him after his consecutive losses to Cody Rhodes for the WWE title.
