Former Women’s Champion Trish Stratus was recently seen at WWE’s premium live event, Money in the Bank. Stratus was hosting the show and even featured in introducing John Cena for a segment on the show.
Trish Stratus, a WWE Hall of Famer, made her in-ring return last year in the promotion at WrestleMania 39. She appeared in several matches and had a major rivalry with Becky Lynch. She teamed up with Becky Lynch and Lita to take on Damage CTRL.
Over the past year, Trish Stratus participated in tag team matches, the Money in the Bank ladder match, and a steel cage match. Her final bout occurred at WWE Payback, where Becky Lynch defeated her. This defeat saw the end of her rivalry, with Lynch securing a victory over the Hall of Famer. Though nearly a year has passed since Trish Stratus last competed, she now seems eager to make a comeback to WWE.
Trish Stratus reveals reasons behind possible WWE return
Former WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus, eager to make her comeback, recently appeared in an interview with Sports Illustrated. In the interview, the Hall of Famer expressed her willingness to return to the ring. However, she also stated that if fans desire it and if it can inspire the next generation, she would make her return.
She stated, “Cody isn’t the only one with an unfinished story. I loved being back as a special guest in Toronto at Money in the Bank. And who knows, if I can still go, I’ll still keep going. I’ll never half-ass it. If fans are interested and it can influence another generation, then we’ll see.”
As Stratus works to inspire the next generation, rising star Tiffany Stratton recently challenged her. They also had a face-off at Money in the Bank, leading fans to speculate whether WWE has already set the stage for a future match between them. Stratus had also hinted that if Stratton continues to provoke, she might consider stepping back. Only time will tell whether this match comes to fruition in the future.
