Former WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams received assistance from TNA star Joe Hendry on the latest edition of NXT. At WWE NXT Heatwave, a Fatal Four-Way match saw champion Trick Williams face Ethan Page, Shawn Spears, and Je’Von Evans.
In the final moments, Williams nailed Spears and Evans with his signature “Trick Shot” finisher before hitting one on Page. Ethan Page then collapsed on top of Evans for the pin. The referee counted to three before Williams could break the fall, as Shawn Spears held him back. The latest edition of NXT featured Ethan Page’s celebration of his win. However, he was being interrupted by Trick Williams, Shawn Spears, and Je’Von Evans, each demanding a title match.
This chaos led to a brawl between all four competitors, culminating in a main event match announcement: Williams and Evans would team up against Shawn Spears and Ethan Page. However, later in the show, Brooks Jensen, a constant source of trouble for the NXT brand, attacked Je’Von Evans.
Following the attack on Je’Von Evans by Brooks Jensen, it was revealed that Evans was unable to compete in the main event tag team match. This left Trick Williams without a tag team partner. As the main event was about to begin with Page, Spears, and Williams ready for action, TNA star Joe Hendry, who had been teasing his appearance, entered as Trick Williams’ new tag team partner.
Trick Williams gives a shout-out to Joe Hendry
TNA star Joe Hendry made his surprising second appearance on NXT, assisting Trick Williams in his match against Shawn Spears and Ethan Page. During the match, Hendry secured the pinfall on Spears after Oro Mensah chased Page away from the ring.
Following their win, WWE shared a clip of Trick Williams and Joe Hendry’s backstage interactions. In the video, Williams is seen giving a shout-out to Hendry for his assistance. Both stars are involved in a humorous backstage exchange.
With Joe Hendry receiving a great ovation once again in WWE, it will be interesting to see if he will return to the black and gold brand once again.
