At the WWE Money in the Bank premium live event, CM Punk once again cost Drew McIntyre an opportunity to win the World Heavyweight Championship. CM Punk has prevented the Scottish Warrior from winning the title on multiple occasions.
Drew McIntyre said he would win the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match and cash in on the same night. McIntyre did exactly what he said after cashing in during Damian Priest and Seth Rollins’ match. CM Punk came out of nowhere and attacked McIntyre with a chair, bashing the world title on his head. This led to Priest capitalizing on the moment and pinning McIntyre to retain his title.
Furious after CM Punk foiled his championship dreams yet again, Drew McIntyre stormed the post-show press conference. The Scottish Warrior, rage etched on his face, interrupted Jackie Redmond, Big E, and Wade Barrett, the show’s hosts. He hijacked the broadcast, directing his fury towards the camera. Amid the chaos, he attacked backstage officials and RAW General Manager Adam Pearce, who tried to stop him.
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have been at each other’s throats for months. Punk, who’s still recovering from a tricep injury, has yet to be cleared for in-ring competition. Fans are wondering when their highly anticipated match will take place.
Many are expecting it to happen next month at WWE SummerSlam. Wrestling journalists Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez have provided an update on their situation.
Is CM Punk facing Drew McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam?

Punk was kind of asked about it and he kind of beat around the bush and he kind of said, I mean, it’s probably happening but he kind of did say it’s up to other people, he has to get cleared and everything by the doctors.
“I was pretty much told they’re pretty confident in it but you can’t go and say 100 percent because it ain’t 100 percent. It’s been the hope, but it’s now more than a hope, now it’s a plan, Drew McIntyre and Punk for SummerSlam.”
