WWE United States Champion and social media influencer Logan Paul has taken the world of professional wrestling by storm since his arrival. Paul made his debut back in 2022 at WrestleMania 38. In his first year with WWE, he took on Roman Reigns, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and The Miz. It was clear the WWE saw huge potential in him after his first year in professional wrestling.
Fast forward to 2023. At the WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, Logan Paul, who had several matches under his belt, faced Rey Mysterio for the US title. During their match, Logan Paul used brass knuckles, knocking out Rey Mysterio to win his first title in WWE, the United States Championship.
However, Logan Paul, who only appears on huge premium live events like WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam, hasn’t defended his title often. Fans are critical of Paul, a part-timer who has only defended the title twice since capturing it in November 2023. He defended it at the Royal Rumble against Kevin Owens and at WrestleMania 40 in a triple-threat match. Despite defending the US title twice, Logan Paul has crossed over 200 days as champion due to his part-time schedule.
Logan Paul on US title
WWE United States Champion Logan Paul achieved another milestone recently. He became the second-longest reigning US champion of the past decade. While Paul is the second-longest reigning US champion, he is inching closer to Austin Theory’s US title record of 258 days, as Paul has already been champion for more than 228 days.
However, with the frequent criticism from fans, Logan Paul finally addressed his lack of US title defenses. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to fans’ posts and stated he wanted to work smart instead of working hard to keep his US title.
While Logan Paul last defended his title back in April at WrestleMania 40, it appears WWE has already started with his title defense program with LA Knight. For weeks, LA Knight has been seen calling out Paul for a US title shot. Last week on SmackDown, he even came into his house, creating problems for Paul. It seems WWE could be booking this match for SummerSlam, as the show takes place in Paul’s hometown, Cleveland, Ohio.
