Following WWE WrestleMania 40, fans eagerly await the return of SmackDown’s top star, Roman Reigns. At WrestleMania, Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes in a thrilling main event, ending his historic 1,316-day reign. He hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since the shocking defeat.
Reports emerged in early April that Reigns is filming a heist comedy movie, “Good Fortune.” Speculation about his next WWE appearance has been swirling since his WrestleMania loss. According to WWE’s official website, Reigns was scheduled for the August 2nd edition of SmackDown, the day before SummerSlam.
However, recent developments suggest Roman Reigns’ return might be delayed. He’s been removed from advertisements for the August 2nd SmackDown, the go-home show before SummerSlam. The banner for the show now features Randy Orton, Bayley, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, Cody Rhodes, and LA Knight. While his name was previously listed, it seems that Roman Reigns will not appear on the show.
This sudden removal of Reigns from the SmackDown advertisements has sparked speculation and raised questions among the WWE Universe about the status of his return. While there has been no official statement from WWE, fans eagerly anticipating Reigns’ comeback and a potential showdown leading into SummerSlam are now left wondering about why he is absent from the SmackDown episode.
What’s next for the former WWE undisputed champion Roman Reigns?
Roman Reigns, who has yet to make an appearance following his WrestleMania 40 loss, has witnessed significant changes within his faction, The Bloodline. Solo Sikoa, who previously served as the faction’s enforcer, is now leading the group.
Sikoa, upon taking over the faction, informed Paul Heyman that Reigns had appointed him to lead it until he returned.
Solo Sikoa has also introduced new members into the faction, including Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. They even expelled Jimmy Uso from the faction. Many fans now believe that Solo Sikoa will eventually face off with Roman Reigns once he returns to WWE.
However, WWE is not advertising Reigns for the reported SmackDown appearance. Moving ahead, it will be interesting to see when Reigns makes his return and confronts Solo Sikoa.
