Former WWE Champion CM Punk, who’s been out of action due to an injury, is expected to make his return around WWE SummerSlam 2024. It appears that CM Punk is preparing for his in-ring return at WWE SummerSlam 2024.
Last November, CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames in his hometown of Chicago. In his first televised match back at the Royal Rumble, Punk went down with a triceps injury. He suffered the injury after receiving a Future Shock DDT from Drew McIntyre. The injury forced him to miss WrestleMania 40, where he was slated to challenge Seth Rollins for the world title.
While CM Punk couldn’t compete at WWE WrestleMania 40, he made his presence felt on the show. He provided commentary for the Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre world title match. Furthermore, following the match, Punk attacked McIntyre, causing him to lose the world title. The Money in the Bank winner, Damian Priest, cashed in his contract.
Since causing Drew McIntyre to lose the world title, both McIntyre and CM Punk have been going back and forth for months. McIntyre, who’s been waiting for Punk’s return, may not have to be patient for long as, recently, CM Punk’s in-ring return was teased for WWE SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio.
While CM Punk is training hard for his return, his WWE partner, Chalk Line, teases his comeback. The brand posted an image on Instagram of new pink wrestling trunks made for Punk. This effectively hints at his return for WWE SummerSlam 2024.
