The debut of the latest AEW signee, Mercedes Mone, has been officially announced for Double or Nothing. While Mone is finally making her debut in AEW, there is speculation that in her first match, she could face her former rival.
Mone competed against Nightingale in the tournament finals for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title at NJPW Resurgence in May 2023. Unfortunately, she suffered an ankle injury during the match. This resulted in her loss and subsequent rehabilitation. Now, Mone and Nightingale are part of AEW, raising the possibility of them facing each other again. Mone announced during an episode of AEW Dynamite that she would challenge the winner of the match between Nightingale and Julia Hart at Double or Nothing for the TBS championship. This announcement sets the stage for a potential rematch between Mone and Nightingale.
