WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has weighed in on the ongoing drama surrounding WrestleMania 40. As anticipation builds for the upcoming event, The Rock made a thunderous comeback on the February 2 edition of SmackDown, engaging in an intense stare-down with Roman Reigns.
However, amidst the buzz surrounding The Rock’s resurgence, major outrage brewed within the WWE Universe. This led to the #WeWantCody movement on social media, clamoring for Cody Rhodes to headline WrestleMania as The Rock took his WrestleMania 40 spot.
In a recent episode of his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker delved into various topics, including his thoughts on the situation. Reflecting on Cody Rhodes’ handling of the WrestleMania 40 dilemma, Taker stated, “I wanted to hear Cody’s promo. It was great. It was so good and I was so invested. When he said, ‘… just not at WrestleMania,’ my freaking heart sunk into my stomach because I knew at that moment what was about to happen. Believe me, money-wise, having The Rock at WrestleMania, brother, come on, against Roman who has been Champion for what, 13 years now? Samoan versus Samoan. It’s huge and it is what it is.”
The Undertaker also expressed his pride in Rhodes for the way he has been handling the current situation. “Knowing and being in that situation a couple of times myself during my career, for Cody to go out and to deliver the promo that he delivered, I felt for him. I felt that not in my stomach because, like I said, I had been there before and he did it like a champ. He did it so professionally,” he said.
Potential next appearance of The Undertaker on WWE TV?
In October, The Undertaker appeared on WWE TV during a significant night when AEW and NXT competed. On NXT, he confronted Bron Breakker and delivered a chokeslam, also sharing a memorable moment with Carmelo Hayes. Since then, WWE hasn’t featured him.
However, there’s anticipation that he might appear in Australia next month for the Elimination Chamber. WWE’s premium live event is scheduled at Optus Stadium in Perth, coinciding with The Undertaker’s acclaimed show, “UNDERTAKER 1 deadMAN SHOW,” aimed at Australian fans.
With his show set the day before the Elimination Chamber, speculation arises that he could attend the event the following day. Fans eagerly await to see if The Undertaker will make a surprise appearance at the Elimination Chamber, adding excitement to the already anticipated event.
