Former WWE Champion Dwayne The Rock Johnson‘s status for the upcoming WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event has been unveiled! WWE Elimination Chamber will occur at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia, on February 24th, 2024.
The Rock, who made his grand return on the Day 1 edition of RAW, teased a potential clash with Roman Reigns. Speculation started running wild on social media among fans that WWE might book a dream match at Elimination Chamber in Australia.
Interestingly, a few days ago, it was revealed that WWE Champion Roman Reigns is not scheduled to work for the Elimination Chamber. This brought the speculation about The Rock vs. Roman Reigns to an end. This absence might not come as a surprise, considering that Reigns’ image hasn’t been in any promotional material of Elimination Chamber.
Reports detailing The Rock’s status for the Elimination Chamber have now surfaced. They disappoint fans as it appears the Brahma Bull won’t grace the grand spectacle unfolding on February 24th. Despite initial hopes from Australian officials, a credible source from the WWE creative team has clarified that there is no expectation that The Rock will be on the show.
Amidst the anticipation fueled by The Rock’s recent surprise return on RAW, the wrestling fans remain on edge, eagerly awaiting his next appearance.
Booker T explains why Roman Reigns must face The Rock at WrestleMania 40
Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T expressed his opinions on why the match between The Rock and Roman Reigns must take place at WrestleMania.
Speaking on his own podcast, Booker T expressed the opinion that WWE should take advantage of the excitement and make the WrestleMania 40 match happen.
“It’s got a buzz. Everybody talking about it. I think that’s the modus operandi. I think that’s what that is, more than anything. For me, you don’t want to let that thing simmer too long. Rock, Father Time waits for no man [laughs], that’s just the way it is. For The Rock to get it done, this could be a great time for it. For Roman as well. Roman’s in his prime, at the height of his title reign.”
Furthermore, he said, “It’s not gonna get any higher than this. If it is that time to pull the trigger, hey man, pull the trigger. The Rock’s back. Rock got a little time off. Right now with everything going on in Hollywood, might as well come over here and keep yourself in shape. What do I always say? Time off is your worst enemy. You don’t want that, you want to stay active. You want to stay in the game. So I get it.”
Hence, reportedly, Elimination Chamber does not feature scheduled appearances by both Roman Reigns and The Rock. It appears fans might witness the dream match they’ve anticipated at WrestleMania 40.
