The wrestling world has been abuzz with speculation about Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, and her potential return to WWE. Banks left the company in May 2022 alongside Naomi, protesting Vince McMahon’s booking decisions.
Since then, Naomi has found her place in TNA Wrestling, while Sasha Banks, aka Mercedes Mone, made a splash in the wrestling world. She made her debut at the NJPW WrestleKingdom 17 earlier this year, and a few weeks later, she claimed the IWGP Women’s Championship.
However, an ankle injury at the NJPW Resurgence in May led to her absence from the wrestling scene, with only a brief appearance at AEW All-In in the Wembley Stadium. Banks’ contractual status in the wrestling world has since remained a topic of discussion.
Recent reports from SESCOOPS have shed light on Sasha Banks’ contract status with WWE. Sources within the company have revealed that there are currently no talks or creative discussions about her return.
A tenured member of the WWE team stated, “Sasha Banks’ name will only come up when there’s a deal.” As of now, there is no deal on the table.
It will be interesting to see whether Banks chooses to make a return to WWE, especially considering that CM Punk has also returned to the promotion under the leadership of Triple H.
Potential return date for former WWE Superstar Sasha Bank
According to the latest reports, there is currently no deal on the table for Sasha Banks. However, with Triple H in charge and the return of CM Punk to the promotion, anything is possible in the world of WWE.
If Sasha Banks, aka Mercedes Mone, chooses to return to WWE instead of signing with AEW, the perfect moment for her grand comeback would be at the Royal Rumble next month. If she enters and emerges victorious at Royal Rumble, she could target The Judgement Day member and WWE Women’s World Heavyweight Champion, Rhea Ripley, who has been on an unstoppable streak.
A showdown between Ripley and Banks at WrestleMania 40 would undoubtedly generate excitement among the fans.
