Universal Cable Productions’ HAPPY! follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, Law & Order: SVU) — an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man — who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named “Happy” (Patton Oswalt, Ratatouille).
Executive producers Morrison (Batman, The Invisibles) and Brian Taylor (Crank, Gamer) co-wrote the pilot teleplay. Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Toby Jaffe of Original Film (The Fast and the Furious franchise), Meloni and showrunner Patrick Macmanus will also executive produce. Taylor directed the pilot.
Christopher Meloni is known for his work on Law & Order: SVU, where he played the role of NYPD Detective Elliot Stabler. He’s appeared on True Blood as the vampire Roman and on Oz as Chris Keller. Meloni has appeared in films like Man of Steel, Wet Hot American Summer, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, 12 Monkeys, Runaway Bride, 42, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
Patton Oswalt was the voice of Remy in the Disney/Pixar film Ratatouille and played the role of Spencer Olchin in the TV series The King of Queens. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album for his 2016 Netflix stand-up special Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping.
