Young Sheldon Trailer: Check Out The Big Bang Theory Prequel Series

Check out the origin of your favorite geek in the new Young Sheldon trailer

A new first-look Young Sheldon trailer has just been released by CBS. In it, we get a look at Iain Armitage as the younger version of Sheldon Cooper, the character Emmy Award-winning actor Jim Parsons made famous in the long-running series The Big Bang Theory. The series is narrated by Parsons as the adult Sheldon, and takes on some of the stories about his childhood that he’s told over the years of the original show. Laurie Metcalfe plays Sheldon’s mom in The Big Bang Theory, and her real-life daughter Zoe Perry plays the younger version of the character. The vocal similarity is uncanny. Check out the trailer in the player below.

In the Young Sheldon trailer, we see Sheldon heading into ninth grade at a very young age. His twin sister who we’ve seen as an adult is thrilled that he’s out of her hair, but his ninth grader brother isn’t too happy to be dealing with Shelly as a classmate. Sheldon thinks he’s going to start a trend with his bowties, but he ends up alienating not only the students, but the teachers, questioning their credentials and calling out wardrobe violations. We also get a very sweet moment between Sheldon and his father, played by Lance Barber, a person Sheldon has had a difficult relationship with.

Young Sheldon also stars Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan. Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak will serve as executive producers of the series, from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television.
