Kermit and Piggy Do Lunch in a Muppets Emmy Promo

Miss Piggy, Kermit and some celebrity guests do lunch in a new Muppets Emmy promo

With their new series, The Muppets, headed to ABC next week, stars Kermit and Miss Piggy can be seen in a just-released Muppets Emmy promo, which features quite a few Emmy-nominated actors in celebrity cameos. Check it out in the player below and watch the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards live Sunday, September 20, at 8:00pm ET/PT.

Shot in a handheld style similar to “The Office,”  the new The Muppets series is a mockumentary chronicling the day-to-day duties of Kermit and co. during production of “Up Late with Miss Piggy,” a late-night talk show starring Miss Piggy. For the first time ever, a series will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires.

Bill Prady (“The Big Bang Theory”) and Bob Kushell (“The Simpsons”) co-created the show, which will air Tuesdays at 8:00pm ET/PT beginning September 22 on ABC.

In the pilot episode, titled “Pig Girls Don’t Cry,” Miss Piggy is furious that Kermit booked Elizabeth Banks as a guest on her late night talk show while Fozzie Bear meets his girlfriend’s parents, and Grammy Award-winning rock band Imagine Dragons performs their new single “Roots.”

The following week’s episode, airing September 29, is titled “Hostile Makeover.” In the episode, Kermit, in an attempt to make Miss Piggy happy, sets her up with Josh Groban who fills her head with ideas on how to make “Up Late with Miss Piggy” better. Meanwhile, Fozzie is invited to a party at Jay Leno’s house and everyone is annoyed that Bobo is selling cookies for his daughter’s troop.
