The third season of Netflix’s hit series “House of Cards” appeared briefly on the service earlier this week due to a technical glitch before getting pulled quickly, but now Netflix has brought online a new teaser that promotes the official release of the third season – February 27.
Starring two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey (who also took home a Golden Globe for his work on the Netflix series), the third season picks up as Francis (Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) Underwood continue their ruthless rise to power as threats mount on all fronts. The third season will feature new recurring characters, including Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, The Blind Side) in an unspecified role and Jenna Stern (16 Blocks, Hitch) as an ambassador at the United Nations. Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina of the band Pussy Riot will also appear.
Based on the BBC miniseries of the same name, the third season of “House of Cards” is executive produced by David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Beau Willimon, Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti, John David Coles and Eric Roth. The one-hour drama is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth and Trigger Street Productions, Inc. in association with Media Rights Capital for Netflix.
