The first teaser trailer for Batman: Caped Crusader has been released, revealing the ensemble voice cast of the animated series as well as the star taking on the mantle as the next voice for the titular Caped Crusader.
Set to hit Prime Video on August 1, the upcoming animated series hails from executive producers Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series), J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), and Matt Reeves (The Penguin).
The synopsis for Batman: Caped Crusader reads: “It is an all-new animated series and reimagining of the Batman mythology. Utilizing state-of-the-art animation techniques, this powerful creative partnership will once again reinvent the character and his iconic rogue’s gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters, and intense action sequences, all set in a visually striking world.”
Who’s in Batman: Caped Crusader voice cast?
The heroes and villains in Batman: Caped Crusader has already been unveiled, with Midnight Mass actor Hamish Linklater lending his voice for the titular Dark Knight. Joining him in still-undisclosed roles are McKenna Grace (Young Sheldon), Toby Stephens (Black Sails), Reid Scott (Veep), Dan Donohue (Magazine Dreams), Gary Anthony Williams (The Boondocks), Jason Watkins (McDonald & Dodds), John DiMaggio (Adventure Time), Krystal Joy Brown (Heaven Down Here), Michelle C. Bonilla (Slip Away), Eric Morgan Stuart (Reality Bites), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting), Diedrich Bader (American Housewife), Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch), and Christina Ricci (The Addams Family).
While it has not been announced yet, Vanity Fair reported that Bader will be voicing Two-Face, with Chung as Harley Quinn, and Ricci as Catwoman. Batman: Caped Crusader is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, 6th & Idaho, and Bad Robot Productions. Greg Rucka, Ed Brubaker, and Bob Kane serve as the animated show’s writers.
The new animated show is set to premiere on August 1, with all ten episodes releasing simultaneously.
