Netflix has released the trailer for Dave Chappelle‘s latest comedy special, Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer, which is set to arrive on the streaming platform this week.
Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer is set to release on Netflix on December 31, 2023, and will showcase a special that was filmed in Chappelle’s hometown of Washington, DC, at the historic Lincoln Theatre.
The special is directed by Emmy Award-winning director Stan Lathan. Lathan previously directed all seven of Chappelle’s Netflix specials.

Chappelle’s specials have been successful following his return
Since making his return to the world of comedy in 2016, Chappelle has produced six total comedy specials for Netflix, most of which have been critically acclaimed.
Chappelle received five Emmy Awards following his return as well, including three for his Netflix comedy specials Sticks & Stones (2019) and Equanimity & The Bird Revelation (2017), and two for hosting Saturday Night Live. Chappelle is a four-time Grammy winner for The Closer, Sticks & Stones, Equanimity & The Bird Revelation, and The Age Of Spin & Deep In The Heart Of Texas.
Most recently, he received his fifth Grammy nomination for What’s in a Name.
