Dr. Death Featurette Takes Us Behind the Scenes of Peacock’s True Crime Drama

Peacock has released the Dr. Death featurette for their forthcoming true-crime drama series, starring Joshua Jackson, Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater, and AnnaSophia Robb. The series is slated to make its debut on Thursday, July 15. The video, which you can check out below, features interviews by the main cast as they talk about each of their character’s roles in the story. They also tease viewers to watch out for Jackson’s astounding leading performance as the titular killer surgeon, who has been getting away with his medical malpractices just because the system is flawed.

Based on the terrifying true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, Dr. Death tells the story of a rising star in the Dallas medical community. Young, charismatic, and ostensibly brilliant, Dr. Duntsch was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice when everything suddenly changed. Patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries and were left permanently maimed or dead. As victims piled up, two fellow surgeons and a young Assistant District Attorney set out to stop him. Dr. Death explores the twisted mind of a sociopath and the gross negligence of the system designed to protect the most defenseless among us.

The series stars Joshua Jackson as Christopher Duntsch, Alec Baldwin as Robert Henderson, Christian Slater as Randall Kirby, AnnaSophia Robb as Michelle Shughart, Grace Gummer as Kim Morgan, and Dominic Burgess as Jerry Summers.

It will also feature an all-female directing team including Maggie Kiley (Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story), who will also executive produce the first two episodes, Jennifer Morrison (Euphoria) and So Yong Kim (Grand Army).
