Netflix has released the red band trailer for the upcoming second season of Tim Miller and David Fincher’s NSFW animated anthology series Love Death + Robots, which will return with eight new episodes this Friday on May 14. The video promises a crop of new provocative tales ranging from wild adventures on far-flung planets to unsettling encounters close to home. It also continues to boast the different and incredible animation styles that will be featured in the new season.
In addition, the official title and credits for the new episodes have been revealed which you can read below along with each episode’s total runtime.
- “Automated Customer Service” – the 10-minute-long episode hails from Atoll Stodio and is directed by Meat Dept. (Kevin Dan Ver Meiren, David Nicolas, Laurent Nicolas) from a story by John Scalzi.
- “Ice” – a 10-minute-long episode coming from Passion Pictures and director Robert Valley, based on a story by Rich Larson.
- “Pop Squad” – Directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, the 15-minute episode is based on a story by Paulo Bacigalupi. It hails from Blur Studio.
- “Snow in the Desert” – Based on a story by Neal Asher, the 15-minute episode hails from Unit Image and is directed by Leon Berelle, Dominique Boidin, Remi Kozyra, Maxime Luere
- “The Tall Grass” – The 8-minute episode is directed by Simon Otto based on a story by Joe Lansdale. It comes from Axist Animation.
- “All Through the House” – Based on a story by Joachim Heijndermans, the shortest episode in Vol. II with a 4-minute runtime comes from Blink Industries and director Elliot Dear.
- “Life Hutch”- the 10-minute-long episode hails from director Alex Beaty, and Blur Studio, based on a story by Harlan Ellison.
- “The Drowned Giant” – Directed by Tim Miller, the 10-minute episode is based on a story by J.G. Ballard. It comes from Blur Studio.

A re-imagining of the 1981 animated sci-fi film Heavy Metal, the adult animated series is aimed towards adults with stories that go across every genre from science fiction, comedy, fantasy, and horror, including imaginative characters such as sentient dairy products, werewolf soldiers and robots gone wild.
The first 18-episode season featured the voices of Gary Cole, Chris Parnell, Omid Abtahi, John DiMaggio, Christine Adams, Josh Brener, Jill Talley, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Nolan North, Elain Tan, Aaron Himelstein, and Samira Wiley with Topher Grace and Mary Elizabeth Winstead appearing in live-action roles.

Love Death + Robots has been in development since the late 2000s. Executive producers are David Fincher (Mindhunter) and Tim Miller (Deadpool), along with Jennifer Miller and Joshua Donen.
The series has already been renewed for a third season which is slated to debut in 2022.
