Netflix has released the official trailer for their upcoming new six-part comedy series History of Swear Words, featuring Oscar winner Nicolas Cage as he guides us to through the history, evolution and cultural impact of curse words. Featuring guest stars including Sarah Silverman and Nick Offerman, the series will be available for streaming on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Check out the video in the player below!

History of Swear Words will feature interviews with experts in etymology, pop culture, historians and entertainers as they give viewers an in-depth look at the origins, pop culture-usage, science and cultural impact of curse words,” including “f–k,” “s–t,” “b—h,” “d–k” and “damn.”
The 20-minute-long six-episode series will also feature guest stars Sarah Silverman, Nick Offerman, Jim Jefferies, Nikki Glaser, Joel Kim Booster, DeRay Davis, Open Mike Eagle, Patti Harrison, London Hughes, Zainab Johnson, Baron Vaughn and Isiah Whitlock Jr.
The experts making an appearance are: cognitive scientist and author of What The F, Benjamin Bergen; linguist Anne Charity Hudley; Professor of Feminist Studies, Mireille Miller-Young; film critic Elvis Mitchell; author of Holy Sh*t: A Brief History of Swearing, Melissa Mohr; and author of Word By Word, Kory Stamper.

History of Swear Words is executive produced by Bellamie Blackstone, who is also serving as the showrunner. It is a co-production by Funny or Die and B17 Entertainment with Mike Farah, Joe Farrell, Beth Belew, Brien Meagher and Rhett Bachner set as executive producers.
