Showtime has released the official trailer for the documentary series The Comedy Store, which brings to life the legends, heartbreak, and history created at The Comedy Store. Premiering on Sunday, October 4, you can check out the trailer for the five-part docuseries now in the player below!

Over the past 47 years, The Comedy Store has launched the careers of a breathtaking array of stars. As a Comedy Store alum, former stand-up comic Mike Binder spotlights one of pop culture’s great laboratories with never-before-seen footage and incisive, emotional interviews with some of the biggest names in comedy.
The documentary series features never-seen-before footage of trailblazers like Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison, and Freddie Prinze, as well as interviews with David Letterman, Jay Leno, Chris Rock, Andrew Dice Clay, Joe Rogen, Whitney Cummings, Jimmy Walker, Michael Keaton, Jim Carrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Marc Maron, Damon Wayans, Bill Burr, and Byron Allen, among others (via Collider).

The Comedy Store is directed and executive produced by Mike Binder (Reign Over Me) who started at The Comedy Store as a doorman before becoming a main stage performer. Executive producers also include Emmy winner Mike Tollin (The Last Dance), Jon Weinbach, Paul Young, and Peter Shore. MSM’s Jonathan Vogler produces along with Adam Eget, the creative director of The Comedy Store.
