Grown-ish is a half-hour comedy tackling current social issues and complexities facing both students and administrators. It follows Dre and Bow Johnson’s eldest daughter Zoey (Yara Shahidi), as she tries to navigate the ins and outs of college life at Cal U. Given the protagonist’s younger age, the show allows itself to look at contemporary social and political issues through a young, idealistic lens.
The series stars Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Trevor Jackson as Aaron Jackson, Francia Raisa as Ana Torres, Emily Arlook as Nomi Segal, Jordan Buhat as Vivek Shah, Deon Cole as Professor Charles Telphy, Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, and Luka Sabbat.
