USA Network has released the official trailer for their upcoming crime thriller series Briarpatch, featuring our first look at Rosario Dawson’s character Allegra Dill as she searches for her sister’s killer. Based on Ross Thomas’ novel of the same name, the series is set to debut in 2020. Check out the video below!

Briarpatch follows Allegra Dill (Dawson), a dogged investigator returning to her border-town Texas home after her sister is murdered. What begins as a search for a killer turns into an all-consuming fight to bring her corrupt hometown to its knees.
The series will also star Kim Dickens (Fear the Walking Dead) as Chief of Police Eve Raytek, Ed Asner (Elf, Up) as James Staghorne Sr, Alan Cumming (The Good Wife, Instinct) as Clyde Brattle, Jay R. Ferguson (The Conners) as Jake Spivey, Brian Geraghty (The Alienist) as Gene Colder, and Edi Gathegi (StartUp) as A.D. Singe.
The adaptation was penned by Andy Greenwald, who will executive produce alongside Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot) via Esmail Corp. Ana Lily Amirpour directed the pilot and will also executive produce, along with Anonymous Content’s Chad Hamilton. Dawson serves as a producer on the series, which was produced by Universal Cable Productions and Paramount Television.
