The Freeform Network comedy series grown-ish has started production on season two on location in Los Angeles, California. Several actors will be reprising their roles from season one, including Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Trevor Jackson as Aaron Jackson, Francia Raisa as Ana Torres, Emily Arlook as Nomi Segal, Jordan Buhat as Vivek Shah and Deon Cole as Professor Charles Telphy. Season one guest stars Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey and Luka Sabbat have all been upped to series regulars, with Diggy Simmons also returning in a recurring role.
The grown-ish premiere last season boasted Freeform’s highest debut for a comedy in nearly six years.
Freeform’s grown-ish, a half-hour comedy tackling current social issues and complexities facing both students and administrators, follows Zoey (Yara Shahidi), Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) popular, entitled, stylish and socially active 17-year-old daughter from ABC’s Emmy-nominated comedy black-ish, as she heads into her freshman year of college at Cal U.
The series is produced by ABC Signature Studios and is executive produced by Kenya Barris, Helen Sugland, E. Brian Dobbins, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne and Julie Bean.
grown-ish will return to TV sometime in 2019.
