Iron Fist season 2 episode 7 picks up immediately after the events of the previous episode. Danny is rushed into surgery to fix the leg that Davos shattered, while Misty, Colleen, and Ward wait for word on how the procedure went.
“The Way I’m Tipping Should Buy Some Respect”
Ward is taking his estrangement from Joy and everything that Danny has gone through pretty hard. Ward decides to skip out on his Rand Enterprises duties and get day drunk. Bethany finds Ward and tries to convince him to go with her to a NA meeting, but Ward refuses, opting instead to stay and get into a fight with the bartender. Bethany goes to a meeting and confesses that she has wanted to use, particularly after her encounter with Ward today. Ward, about to go into the meeting himself, pauses and listens to Bethany talk about their relationship. When Bethany tells the group that she’s pregnant, Ward, stunned, turns and shuffles away.
“It’s Just Like Looking at a Crime Scene”
Misty follows up with Joy about the details of the ritual that Davos performed. Misty is particularly interested in the bowl that was used, since the Crane Sisters told Misty and Colleen that it is essential for the ritual. Joy sends Misty to Mika at the auction house, who doesn’t have the bowl, but does have the scroll that describes the ritual. Misty takes photos of the scroll and delivers them to Danny and Colleen to interpret while Misty goes to find some help in dealing with Davos, since the police are inclined to let Davos keep killing Triads.
“Back in Green Bay. In Sokovia”
Joy goes to Walker to find out why she didn’t kill Davos, but finds that Mary is still in control. Joy realizes that Walker is unreliable and that she will have to find a way to take of herself.
Their conversation awakens something in Mary. The talk of how Walker protected Joy reminds Mary of all the times that Walker has protected Mary. Mary washes her valium down the sink, then sits and records a message for Walker. Mary doesn’t want to struggle against Walker for control anymore. Mary wants them to find a way to be whole again, so she surrenders to Walker, letting her stronger self take control.
“If I Want to Make the World Better, I Have to Be Better”
In addition to killing criminals, Davos begins to build his army. He starts by offering to house, clothe, feed, and train the young Hatchet Gang members. Not only does Davos need acolytes to carry out his mission of ridding the city of crime, but he’s looking to put a few trained warriors between himself and Danny, knowing it is only a matter of time before Danny comes around again to try and retake the heart of the dragon.
Joy seeks out Davos, telling her former partner that she realizes that everything she has tried to build for herself since divesting from Rand Enterprises is a lie. In order to make a better future for herself, she needs to make herself better first. Davos is thrilled to have Joy by his side again. Joy asks about the bowl used in the ritual, saying that she would like to sell it. Davos, however, intends to keep it close.
“What Comes from that is on Me”
With a device from Rand Enterprises, Danny is back on his feet, but not in fighting shape. He feels that all of this is his fault for trying to reason with Davos, and yet the thought of Davos being hunted and possibly killed by the police breaks his heart. Danny knows that he needs to train around his injury in order to defeat Davos. Colleen understands the full responsibility of what it means to be a teacher, which is something that Danny has never experienced. Colleen refuses at first to train Danny, relenting only when she sees Danny struggling to try and train himself.
