Last month, Game of Thrones and Aquaman star Jason Momoa was signed to headline See, an upcoming sci-fi series produced by Apple. Now, Yadira Guevara-Prip (top left) and Nesta Cooper (top right) have been cast in two of the series’ leading roles.
Via Deadline, See is a high concept series takes place in a future where humanity has lost the ability to perceive the world with sight. The survivors have learned how to rely on their other senses to get by, but the birth of twins with sight will throw the new society into chaos. According to the report, Guevara-Prip will portray a young warrior named Bow Lion, while Cooper will play Haniwa, “a proud and determined young daughter.” As previously reported, Momoa will take on the role of Baba Voss, “a fearless warrior, leader, and guardian.”
This series won’t be the first genre show for either Guevara-Prip or Cooper. Both actresses have previously appeared on Supernatural, with Guevara-Prip originally lined up as one of the stars of Wayward Sisters, the spinoff series that was not picked up by The CW. Guevara-Prip has also had a role in the Amazon original series, Mad Dogs. Cooper has starred in Netflix’s Travelers and #RealityHigh, and appeared in Supergirl, Heroes Reborn, and The Magicians.
See has been described by Apple as “an epic, world-building drama set in the future.” The series was written and created by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), and it received a straight-to-series pickup earlier this year. Francis Lawrence, the director of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2, is also attached to helm the series for Apple. See may begin production later this year. Apple has not yet revealed when See is expected to debut, but a 2019 or 2020 premiere seems likely.
