Paramount Network has released the official trailer for their new scripted series American Woman, starring Golden Globe nominee Alicia Silverstone (Miss Match), Mena Suvari (Clarence), and Jennifer Bartels (Broken) as three best friends in 1970’s Beverly Hills. Featured in the trailer is a reimagining of the classic song “American Woman” by Grammy Award-winning recording artist Kelly Clarkson. Check out the American Woman trailer in the player below!
Inspired by the real-life upbringing of Kyle Richards (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), American Woman follows Bonnie (Silverstone), an unconventional mother struggling to raise her two daughters after leaving her husband amid the rise of second-wave feminism in 1970’s Los Angeles.
Bonnie also comes to rely on the help of her two best friends, Kathleen (Suvari) and Diana (Bartels), as they each discover their own brand of independence in a glamorous and ever-changing world reluctant to give it. The series also stars Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story) and James Tupper (Big Little Lies).
Silverstone’s latest project, Book Club, an upcoming comedy-drama also starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson, Andy Garcia, and Don Johnson, will open in theaters on May 18, 2018, from Paramount Pictures.
American Woman is set to premiere on June 7 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on the Paramount Network.
