Stranger Things Will Likely Continue Past Season 4

Stranger Things will likely go past Season 4 and more show news

A while back, Stranger Things series creators Matt and Ross Duffer implied that the show wouldn’t go beyond Season 4. Fans might be able to breathe a sigh of relief, though. The Duffers and executive producer Shawn Levy have now said that it might go beyond four seasons, according to EW.

Levy told the site, “Hearts were heard breaking in Netflix headquarters when the Brothers made four seasons sound like an official end, and I was suddenly getting phone calls from our actors’ agents. The truth is we’re definitely going four seasons and there’s very much the possibility of a fifth. Beyond that, it becomes I think very unlikely.”

In addition, we’re learning a little bit more about Season 2. Millie Bobbie Brown, who plays Eleven on the series, told EW she’ll be cussing this season. She said, “I didn’t have much more vocabulary but the things I did have to say were really fun. There’s one curse word this season which was really different and funny.” We’re also reportedly going to meet Barb’s dad in Season 2, and the murder of the fan favorite character played by Shannon Purser will be addressed. “Especially this season, Barb’s a big part of Nancy’s story line and that drive to — I don’t know how to say it otherwise — to find justice,” Natalia Dyer who plays Nancy told the site.

We’re also learning about the spider-like “shadow monster” that we’ve seen in Season 2 photos. Jeff Duffer told EW, “There’s an H.P. Lovecraft sort of approach, this inter-dimensional being that is sort of beyond human comprehension. We purposely don’t want to go too much into what it is or what it wants.”

Stranger Things Season 2 will star Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine. New cast additions include Sadie Sink (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers), Brett Gelman (Blunt TalkThe Other Guys), newcomer Linnea Berthelsen, and ’80s icons Sean Astin (The Goonies) and Paul Reiser (Aliens).
