He quickly discovers it’s going to be a lot harder than he thought.” The show was inspired by the podcast StartUp, which talks about what it’s really like to begin a new business. Braff will also executive produce with Tarses and Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox with Alex Blumberg, Chris Gilberti and Matt Lieber from Gimlet Media in association with Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios.
The Zach Braff comedy also stars Tiya Sircar (the voice of Sabine Wren on Star Wars Rebels) as Rooni, Hillary Anne Matthews (Single by 30) as Deirdre, Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) as Eddie, Elisha Henig (Future World) as Ben and Audyssie James (Sesame Street) as Soraya.
Braff is known for his work playing the character of J.D. on Scrubs from 2001-2010 for which he was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2005. He’s also known for his directorial debut Garden State, in which he starred with Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard and Iam Holm.
