NBC’s Timeless series has been canceled, ending its run on a cliffhanger
The Timeless series has been canceled at NBC after a single season, according to TVLine. The news was confirmed on Twitter by executive producer/co-creator Eric Kripke, as you can see below.
Its true. NBC canceled #Timeless. We’re surprised & upset. Get you a longer response later. Odds are long, but trying to find another home.

Kripke said, “It’s true. NBC canceled #Timeless. We’re surprised & upset. Get you a longer response later. Odds are long, but trying to find another home.” Other shows have found success with moving to streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. The Mindy Project was canceled after season 3 and moved to Hulu for a fourth and fifth season. Longmire moved to Netflix after being canceled by A&E. Arrested Development returned to the small screen after years away from FOX when Netflix picked it up for a fourth season. The Full House characters returned on Netflix with Fuller House, two decades after the show originally aired.
The Timeless series stared Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjic, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumi. The first season of Timeless was NBC’s no. 6-rated drama. The season finale/series finale of the freshman time travel story ended on a cliffhanger with Lucy learning that her mother was part of the Rittenhouse organization. Co-creator Shawn Ryan pitched season 2 with Kripke back in April and posted the cover of the pitch on Twitter.

Kripke is also known for creating the long-running TV series Supernatural (first at The WB, which is now The CW), which is currently airing its twelfth season. He also created the post-apocalyptic NBC series Revolution, which ran from 2012-2014. Ryan is known for creating or co-creating shows like The Shield, The Chicago Code and Lie to Me.
