The CW and DC Entertainment have announced that the “al Ghul” family will now be fully represented on Arrow with the addition of Lexa Doig (Continuum, V) as Talia al Ghul. The Arrow version of the character is described as “worldly and cultured, and an elite warrior who doesn’t pick sides but rather creates her own.” Doig will make her debut as the character in Episode 5.10 and will appear for multiple episodes.
This actually isn’t the first time that Talia has appeared in one of The CW shows, as a young version of the character appeared briefly in an episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Created by Dennis O’Neil, Bob Brown, and Dick Giordano, Talia made her comic book debut in “Detective Comics” #411 in 1971. A highly-trained assassin, the character is most notable for both following in her father’s footsteps as an ecoterrorist but also giving birth to Batman’s son, Damian Wayne. She was previously played on the big screen by Marion Cotillard in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter.
The guest stars for Arrow Season 5 also include Josh Segarra as Vigilante, The Walking Dead star Chad L. Coleman in the villain role of Tobias Church, and Joe Dinicol as mystical vigilante Ragman.
