Nearly 15 years after Dark Angel ended, Jessica Alba is returning to FOX with a new sci-fi series, Girl 10
It has been close to two decades since James Cameron‘s science fiction series Dark Angel helped launch Jessica Alba’s stardom. Now, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the actress is returning to FOX with a new vision of the future. She’s set to executive produce Girl 10 alongside Gotham‘s Ken Woodruff.

Like Dark Angel, Girl 10 is set in the very near future. (The former series, which debuted on FOX in 2000, begins the action in the year 2019). According to the trade, Girl 10 follows an A.I. protagonist named Elle. She’s one of only ten like her and the story center around her being investigated for murder while also dealing with the bigger threat of an evil organization that wants to use artificial intelligence technology for nefarious purposes.
Ken Woodruff is also providing the script for Girl 10.
Jessica Alba was back on the big screen last month in the Lionsgate‘s Summit Premiere film Mechanic: Resurrection. She starred opposite Jason Statham, who himself reprised the Arthur Bishop role from Simon West’s 2011 remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson-led actioner. On Dark Angel, Alba played Max Guevara, a genetically-engineered super soldier who, having escaped from the government forces that would see her used as a weapon, searches for others like her against a post-apocalyptic backdrop. Dark Angel ran for 43 episodes over two seasons with James Cameron himself stepping in to direct the 2002 series finale.
There’s no word yet on whether or not Alba also plans to play a role on Girl 10 herself, but check back for updates as they become available.
