Arrow season five has added Josh Segarra as the DC Comics antihero Vigilante
The CW‘s Arrow is adding quite a few DC Comics characters to its season five roster. Following yesterday’s report that Rick Gonzalez (Rush, Mr. Robot) has joined the cast as the vigilante known as Wild Dog, Deadline brings word that Chicago P.D. star Josh Segarra is set to play the vigilante known, appropriately enough, as Vigilante.
Created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, Vigilante made his comic book debut in 1983’s “New Teen Titans Annual” #2. Adrian Chase, a New York City District Attorney, was driven to become the masked antihero after his family was killed by crimelords. Although Vigilante initially had plans to use non-lethal force to keep crime in check, Chase’s mental health began to deteriorate over the years and, feeling responsible for the death of a police officer, he began to take on a significantly more violent persona. Arrow fans can certainly see how Adrian Chase and Oliver Queen have more than a little in common.
Arrow also stars David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter.
In addition to appearing on Chicago P.D., Josh Segarra starred on USA‘s Sirensand recently appeared on the big screen in Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck.
