Michael Ironside Heads to The Flash

Michael Ironside previously played Sam Lane on “Smallville,” among other DC Comics roles 

The second season of The CW’s hit DC Comics series “The Flash” will introduce fans to Lewis Snart, the father of Wenworth Miller’s Leonard Snart (aka Captain Cold) and Peyton List’s Lisa Snart (aka Golden Glider). According to a story today at The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Ironside will be taking on the role! No stranger to the DC Universe, Ironside played Sam Lane (Lois’ father) on “Smallville” and has lent his voice to multiple DC Comics characters in various animated films and series. He even voiced Batman himself in the famous Rashomon-inspired “Legends of the Dark Knight” episode of “Batman: The Animated Series,” which offered the first-ever animated look at Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns version of the Caped Crusader.

Ironside will appear in the third episode of “The Flash’s” second season, which is titled “Family of Rogues.” His character is described by the outlet as being a “cold-blooded, ruthless career criminal. Recently released from prison, he returns to Central City with a plan that will endanger both of his children.” Naturally, List and Miller will also be appearing.

Based on the characters from DC Comics, “The Flash” is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The series returns for season two on Tuesday, October 6, at 8/7c on The CW.
