Updates on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter
Straight from the Marvel Television Presents panel at San Diego Comic-Con comes some new details on the upcoming seasons of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” and “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” including that official soundtracks for both shows will be available to eager fans this fall.
On the “Agent Carter” side of things, executive producers Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas revealed (via EW) that fans will finally get to meet Jarvis’ wife in the upcoming season, though she currently is yet to be cast.
“It’s 1947, so it’s six months after the [first season] ended,” Fazekas said. “Things are different. We’ll see people are in different positions. Not everyone is in New York anymore. There’s some history we’re not quite sure of. Some people are not talking to each other anymore.”
On the “SHIELD” side of the panel, executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen teased via video the previously-announced team of Secret Warriors that will be formed by Coulson and Daisy Johnson. In addition, they revealed that another Inhuman will be making his way into the series in the form of Lash, a powerful Inhuman with the ability to manipulate energy and one that thinks those given the gift of Terrigenesis is an honor that not all deserve. He just made his comic book debut in last year’s Inhuman #1.
“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” is executive produced by Joss Whedon (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel’s The Avengers); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, (“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” pilot co-writers, “Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agent Carter,” “Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Lost”). The series stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Adriannge Palicki, Luke Mitchell, and Henry Simmons.
Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.
“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Carter along with James D’Arcy, Enver Gjokaj, Chad Michael Murray, Lyndsy Fonseca and Bridget Regan. The series is executive produced by Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Chris Dingess, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb.
