Game of Thrones Season 6 Comic-Con Panel
The cast of Game of Thrones Season 6 was out in force today at their Comic-Con panel, and we have some of the highlights of what was discussed for the hotly-anticipated episodes of the HBO fantasy series set to air in summer 2016.
Cast members Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Alfie Allen, John Bradley, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Natalie Dormer, Conleth Hill, Hannah Murray and Carice van Houten were all there, and moderator Seth Meyers kicked things off with a montage of “Game of Thrones” pop culture references and parodies throughout the years.
Later, another sizzle reel was revealed, this time featuring audition footage of many of the main and supporting players saying their famous lines out loud for the first time:
*SPOILERS AHEAD* According to HitFix, Maisie Williams revealed that she is training to learn how to fight in a different style now that her character has been blinded. Natalie Dormer thinks Queen Margaery might be in a fair amount of trouble now that her grandmother Lady Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) isn’t around anymore to save her. And John Bradley stated that now that Sam and Gilly (Hannah Murray) have made love, he thinks Sam will continue to “just accept more of the same. I don’t he’s the kind of guy to inject some exoticism into his sex life. Before Gilly, Sam thought of sex as most people thought of space.” *END SPOILERS*
“Game of Thrones” was created for HBO by showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, based on George R. R. Martin’s ongoing series of fantasy novels known as “A Song of Ice and Fire.” Production on Season 6 is expected to begin soon on location in Spain and Belfast, Ireland.
