USA Network has announced a 16-episode sixth season renewal of the provocative and sophisticated hit original drama “Suits” from Universal Cable Productions. Currently airing Wednesdays at 9/8c on USA, the fifth season of “Suits,” which premiered last week, opened to 3.4MM total viewers P2+, 1.5MM P25-54 and 1.3MM P18-49.
“‘Suits’ has set the bar high in every way and continues to be a strong performer and marquee property for USA,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “From the incredible on-screen performances and brilliant writing to the aspirational lifestyle portrayed, we look forward to continuing to bring viewers into the world of ‘Suits’ every week.”
“‘Suits’ has delivered a smart and sexy roller coaster ride for five seasons,” said Jeff Wachtel, Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and President, Universal Cable Productions. “Aaron Korsh has some great surprises for the audience at the end of Season 5 that should really set future seasons on an exciting new course.”
“Suits” centers on a fast-paced Manhattan corporate law firm led by legendary lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). In the next episode, “Compensation,” airing tonight at 9/8c, Harvey searches for a replacement for Donna (Sarah Rafferty), while his latest case forces him to bring out some star power. Mike (SAG Award Nominee, Patrick J. Adams) takes a case as a favor, which he must justify to Jessica (Gina Torres) – while Rachel’s (Meghan Markle) father, Robert Zane (guest star Wendell Pierce), offers some unsolicited advice about Rachel’s engagement to Mike. And Louis (Rick Hoffman) is embroiled in surprising money matters, as Jack Soloff (guest star John Pyper Ferguson) tries to involve him in his scheme to undermine Harvey.
From Universal Cable Productions, “Suits” was created and is executive produced by Aaron Korsh (“The Deep End”). Doug Liman (“Covert Affairs,” The Bourne Trilogy, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), David Bartis (“Covert Affairs,” “The O.C.”) and Gene Klein (“Covert Affairs,”) of Hypnotic, as well as Anton Cropper (“Fairly Legal”), Daniel Arkin (“90210”) and Chris Downey (“King & Maxwell,” “Leverage”) serve as executive producers. Rick Muirragui (“Men of a Certain Age,” “The Good Guys”) and Genevieve Sparling (“Smallville”) serve as co-executive producers. “Suits” is shot on location in Toronto, ON.
