According to TVLine, FOX is currently in development on a spin-off to the hit show “24” which would feature a new lead male character in place of Kiefer Sutherland’s Counter Terrorist agent Jack Bauer.
Series showrunner Howard Gordon told the site that the plan in place right now is to put the spotlight on a new male antihero working with an older, more seasoned female agent, the latter of whom will not be Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski), although that character may make periodic appearances. Sutherland will also appear off-and-on as a guest star throughout the run of the revamped “24,” which will launch as a limited series in “real-time” with the potential for longer seasons in the future.
Bauer last appeared in 2014’s limited run “24: Live Another Day,” and that show’s Manny Coto and Evan Katz will serve as writers and executive producers on the spin-off alongside Gordon.
