Cartoon Network Website Shuttered, Now Redirects to Max for Streaming

Cartoon Network’s website has shut down.

Warner Bros. Discovery has removed all of the content that was previously featured on Cartoon Network’s website. The site, cartoonnetwork.com, now redirects visitors to a Max landing page.

A pop-up ad on the Cartoon Network landing page on Max now reads, “Looking for episodes of your favorite Cartoon Network shows? Check out what’s available to stream on Max (subscription required). Sign up for Max, where you can also create a Kids Profile with ratings restrictions and additional privacy protections to keep it fun and kid-friendly! Cable subscribers, continue to watch Cartoon Network on your TV and connected apps as well!”

When did Cartoon Network’s website shut down?

Per Variety, Warner Bros. Discovery appears to have shuttered Cartoon Network’s website on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

A Cartoon Network spokesperson told Variety in a statement, “We are focusing on the Cartoon Network shows and social media where we find consumers are the most engaged and there is a meaningful potential for growth.”

Cartoon Network will still continue to offer programming from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on television.

Cartoon Network’s website previously allowed visitors to stream full episodes and clips of fan-favorite series such as Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans GO!, Steven Universe, and more titles.

The news comes shortly after Warner Bros. Discovery announced it will be shutting down Boomerang — which featured a catalog of shows such as Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Flintstones, and more — next month.

“Starting September 30, you can watch fan-favorite Boomerang shows alongside Max’s full catalog of iconic series, hit movies, fresh originals, breaking news, and family favorites including The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans Go!, Lego Batman, and more!” Boomerang said in a notice to customers.
