Reports earlier this year suggested that The Bear Season 4 was shot alongside its latest season, but according to the cast and FX, that wasn’t the case.
During a recent press conference for the recently released third season of the hit FX series (via The Playlist), the cast of the series was asked about shooting Seasons 3 and 4 back-to-back and what fans might expect from the next season.
Lead actor Jeremy Allen White reportedly responded in a looser manner, noting that the crew “did something like that” before Ayo Edebiri said that they did “a little version of it, sort of. But not exactly.”
“Not exactly,” White said. “Is that helpful for journalism?” Edebiri joked. “You’ll have to find out,” cast member Abby Elliott concluded.
What do we know about The Bear Season 4?
FX then confirmed to The Playlist that both seasons were not shot back-to-back, although some elements of Season 4 were filmed in advance. Just how much of Season 4 was filmed, however, remains unknown.
The Bear Season 3 premiered on June 27 on Hulu with ten new episodes. The comedy-drama also stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Edwin Lee Gibson, and Matty Matheson. Further details about the third installment’s plot and new characters remained under wraps.
Edebiri directed one of Season 3’s episodes, which served as her directorial debut. It is executive produced by Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, Nate Matteson, and Josh Senior.
